Arthur Minor Hockey Awards Night recognizes local athletes

ARTHUR – The Arthur Minor Hockey Awards Night on April 25 celebrated the achievements of young hockey players this past season.

Each team was recognized by their coaches and received a gift from the Arthur Minor Hockey Association (AMHA), and there were special awards for players, chosen by their coaching staff.

The award winners were: Braeden Ribey (U9, AMHA Most Improved Goalie); Braeden VanDongen (U18, AMHA Most Valuable Goalie); Ryder Lillie (U8, Troy McDougall Award for Most Enthusiastic First Year Player); Colton Bannister and Jackson Bodz (U9, Bodyne Hutchison Award for the Most Unselfish Player); Brock VanGerven (U11, Tom Eyre Award for the Free Spirited Player); Corey Vervoort (U13, Steven Hutchison Award – for a player who gives 110 per cent to their team); Jessy Lamont (U18, Tanner Redburn Award – for the player who shows passion, dedication and leadership); Dexter Warnaar (U18, Blake Fischer Award – for the best all around team player); Ali McDougall (U7, Molly Contini Award – Given to a female AMHA player exhibiting outstanding leadership, enthusiasm and dedication). AHMA/Esso awards were also presented for players in each age group.

The AHHA/Esso Most Dedicated Award winners were: Logan Mills (U6); Rhys Vervoort (U7); Myles Walsh (U8); Hendryx Hutchison (U9); Lucas O’Donnell (U11); Trace Morrison (U13); Braeden VanDongen (U18, team 1); and Matthew Deschenes (U18, team 2). The AMHA/Esso Most Team Spirit Award winners were Finn Raftis (U6); Tommy Boggs (U7); Ben Densmore (U8); Ben Boggs (U9); Cooper Winter (U11); Levi Hostrawser (U13); William Hessels (U18, team 1) and Matthew Deschenes (U18, team 2). The AMHA/Esso Most Improved Award Winners were Wes Job (U6); MJ Vidler (U7); Jameson Taylor (U8); Braxton Stewart (U9); Lucas Mehlenbacher (U11); Hudson Springall (U13); Keagan Stewart (U18, team 1); Izaiah Boles (U18, team 2).
