Asleep at the wheel, charged

MOUNT FOREST – A Mount Forest man faces impaired driving charges after he was found asleep behind the wheel.

According to a police news release, on Oct. 11, around 3:30am, Wellington County OPP responded to a complaint, called in by a concerned citizen, about an unresponsive driver parked in a live lane of traffic on Main Street in Mount Forest.

Police have charged a 21-year-old Mount Forest man with operating a vehicle while impaired and with having a blood alcohol concentration above the limit. He is to appear in Guelph court on Oct. 21.

Police continue to urge people to immediately call 911 when impaired driving is suspected.
