ATKINSON, Gordon

Passed away peacefully at home on April 14, 2023, at the age of 76. Loving brother of Bill (Margaret). Proud uncle to Kathryn Weber (Trevor), Christine Schott (Jesse) and Lisa Atkinson (Ryan). Great uncle to Emily, Amy, Deveny, Mackenzie, Owen and Oliver. Predeceased by his parents James and Mabel Atkinson. Gord was a proud life-long farmer who lived on the family farm for close to 65 years. For the last 10 years, he has enjoyed the company of his friends at Parkside Christian Village. Visitation took place on Sunday, April 16, 2023, from 2:00-4:00pm at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph. A funeral service took place on Monday, April 17, 2023 at 11:00am at Barrie Hill United Church, 5702 Wellington County Rd. 29, Rockwood, with reception that followed in the church hall. Private burial will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions to the Guelph General Hospital or Groves Memorial Community Hospital would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Gordon J. Atkinson in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
