BELWOOD – Over 400 entrants registered for the 37th edition of the Belwood Lions Club Pike and Walleye Derby last weekend.

All fish must be released after being measured and, if the fish don’t recover within ten minutes, the catch is disqualified.

A cheque for $10,000 was presented to Groves Hospital Foundation Chair, Barb Lustgarten Evoy.

This brings the total raised from the past few derbies to over $70,000.

The longest walleye was caught by Wojtek Bak of Mississauga, who received a cheque for $1,500 for his 23 5/8” fish.

A cheque for $2,000 went to Robert Adams of Woodstock who hooked a 28 1/2” pike.
