BELWOOD – Canada Post has resumed regular mail delivery to residents in Belwood after a fire on Nov. 15 destroyed the building that housed the local post office.

But those who were picking up their mail at the Belwood Post Office will be inconvenienced a little longer.

In an update on Nov. 24, Canada Post says those residents can now temporarily pick up their mail at the Guelph postal facility, located at 250 Woodlawn Road West, from Monday to Friday between 8am and 7pm.

They must provide a valid government-issued photo identification when collecting their mail.

Customers can also access postal services at the post office in Fergus, located on St. Andrew Street West.

The update states Canada Post is looking for a suitable alternate site to resume postal services in the community as soon as possible.

In the meantime, customers who are missing a mail item or parcel are asked to contact the sender and begin their claim for a refund or have the parcel sent to them again.

Customers can also contact Canada Post’s Customer Service team online at canadapost.ca/support or 1-866-607-6301 (TTY: 1-800-267-2797) for further information.
