GUELPH – Students from this year’s Beyond Borders class will be hosting a car wash to raise funds for an Indigenous organization.

The Upper Grand District School Board program will be hosting the donation-based event on Oct. 3 from 12 to 2:45pm at the Kelsey’s on Woodlawn Road in Guelph.

All proceeds will go towards the Gord Downie and Chanie Wenjack fund, which is guided by the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation.

Donations are by cash and cheque only.

Funds raised will be used towards projects working to connect Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples to facilitate reconciliation across the country.

Students within the class will be competing in groups against each other to see who can make the most money, while also learning business skills.

The class is hoping to raise $2,500 for the organization.
