Blessings to You donates funds to provide rec programs in Minto

MINTO – A recent donation from Blessings To You in Palmerston will allow the Town of Minto’s community services department to offer several free programs this winter.

The consignment/thrift store recently presented the town with a cheque for $7,400, covering three programs.

The recently launched Grassroots Basketball program in Clifford is completely funded by this donation. Blessings To You purchased, through a $1,500 donation, the necessary equipment to start the program. The donation also covers all registration fees, meaning the program is free to participants.

A separate $1,900 donation will fund free public skating during PA Days, Christmas Break and March Break at both the Harriston and Palmerston arenas. The free public skates will run from 12:30 to 1:30pm. each day during those school holidays.

Also included is $4,000 to offer free shinny programs at the Harriston and Palmerston arenas. Harriston offers the program on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4 to 5pm, and it’s offered in Palmerston on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 to 5pm.
