BURNS, Bernice (nee Mathieson)

Peacefully passed away into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 26, 2023 at the age of 98 at the Wellington Terrace. Mother of Marion of Guelph and John (Ruth) of Fergus. Grandmother of Michael of Guelph, Jason (Valerie) of New Liskard, Leanne (Jason) of Georgetown and Paul (Laura) of Elora. Great Grandmother of Hayleigh, Akaydian, Mia, Jack, Bo and Jude. Predeceased by her parents Lorne and Isabella Mathieson, beloved husband of 52 years, Wilbur Lawrence Burns (1999), sister-in-law Alberta Eleanor Burns (2003) and foster sister Gladys Zimmerman (nee Calvert) (2020). A special thanks to the nurses and caregivers at both Twin Oaks of Maryhill and the Wellington Terrace, long term care facilities. Bernice was Member of Bethel Baptist Church for over 60 years. She was an avid quilter and loved to knit almost anything. Gardening and tending her flowerbeds was her favourite pastime. Cremation has taken place and a family graveside time of remembrance will take place at Mount Carmel. Donations in memory of Bernice may be made to Bethel Baptist Church of Fergus.
