Canada Day lemonade sale raises $1,200 for autism services
FERGUS – A Canada Day lemonade sale, hosted by eight-year-old Walker Samson of Fergus, has raised $1,200 in support of Kerry’s Place, which provides services to families with children, adolescents, and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Half of all proceeds from the lemonade sale are being donated by the family to Kerry’s Place. Samson’s younger brother, Reece, suffers from ASD.
In an email to the Advertiser, Jennifer Samson, Walker’s mother, said the family was truly grateful for the strong community turnout.
“Walker worked very hard and was so happy to see the turnout and support … it meant the world to him,” Samson stated.
“Kerry’s Place touches so many families, and now with this donation, we hope we can make a difference for so many more that have struggled through this pandemic with the loss of services just like ours has.”
