GUELPH – The Canadian National Pickleball League (CNPL) is launching its inaugural seasonal event in the birthplace of the league: Guelph.

At the Sleeman Centre on July 29 and 30, the event will showcase Canada’s top 32 professional pickleball players battling it out on the court.

The CNPL is Canada’s first-ever national professional pickleball league and is home to Canada’s top-ranked pickleball players.

The local CNPL Eastern Split will face off against teams from across the nation.

From the Rocky Mountain Rush to the East Toronto Smash, the country’s newest professional teams will take to the court to show spectators the true spirit of pickleball, officials say.

Pickleball has exploded in popularity across the country in recent years.

CNPL Commissioner Mike McAninch, states “This isn’t just a game; it’s a celebration of the best of the best in pickleball talent in our nation.

“This is a chance to be part of something big. We’re not just playing pickleball; we’re building a community.

“We’re celebrating the talent we have right here in Canada and pushing it onto the world stage.”

Bringing recognition to some lesser-known communities where pickleball is just getting off the ground, has been a core pillar for the CNPL.

Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.ca.
