FERGUS– There is no mistaking the ringing sound of a blacksmith’s hammer on his anvil. This “music” also produced some wonderful creations at the CanIron Canadian National Blacksmith Conference, held this year at the Fergus Sportsplex Aug. 3 to 6. The three-day CanIron XIII event drew many locals to see the work of eight artists. The theme this year was “Sparking Creativity.”

Sparks Fly - Steve Cornelson using the power hammer.
Anvil - Hammer and steel come together.
Welsh Dragon - created by James Wallace who has been a full time blacksmith for 40 years.
