Catholic high school students compete in Battle of the Bands

GUELPH – Wellington Catholic District School Board high schools held their third annual Battle of the Bands competition at St. James Catholic High School on May 6.

Musicians from Our Lady of Lourdes and St. James vied for first place, which came with recording studio time.

Lourdes band Spirit Fray was crowned champion, a particularly impressive feat given that the band formed just weeks before the competition.

Judges said it was a tight competition, with St. James duo Sophia Townsend and Sophia Townsend a close second and taking home Long and McQuade gift certificates as their prize.
