GUELPH – ‘Palestine in the Park’ was a festival celebrating local Palestinian arts, culture and community in Guelph on Aug. 10. The festival included Dabke dancing and Tatreez embroidery workshops, kite-making for kids, an arts market, food, a silent auction fundraiser, musical performances and short film screenings. The event took place outside Guelph’s Boathouse and Lawn Bowling Club.

Dabke is a traditional dance popular at weddings, festivals and other celebrations in Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and Iraq.
