Child dies after skid steer accident on Wellington North farm
WELLINGTON NORTH – A 12-year-old child has died following an accident on a farm last weekend.
Emergency crews responded to an agricultural property near the intersection of Highway 6 and Sideroad 2, south of Mount Forest, on May 10 at about 10am.
“It was reported that a child riding on a bicycle collided with a skid steer,” police stated in May 12 press release.
“The child was transported to a trauma hospital by Ornge air ambulance.”
In an update provided on May 13, police stated the child died in hospital on May 12 "as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.”
Police say the cause of the collision is under investigation.
