Community 6 Girl Guides of Canada host Award and Recognition Ceremony

GUELPH – On June 21, Community 6 Girl Guides of Canada hosted an Award and Recognition Ceremony at Guelph Lake Sports Field.

A long-time resident June Ball of Fergus was presented with her 60 year membership pin. Through the years June has volunteered in many levels of Guiding as well as sat in various administrative roles in the Fergus Community.

Brianna Murchison, a 1st Alma Pathfinder, was presented the Canada Cord Award, the highest achievement to earn as a Pathfinder in Girl Guides of Canada. Not only did she earn a Canada Cord, she also received the Community Service Award. The presentation included congratulatory letters from Mapleton Mayor Gregg Davidson and Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae (at an earlier celebration).
