Connecting Link project expected to continue until October 2020
Connecting Link project - Reconstruction of the Arthur Street East (Highway 89) Connecting Link between Elora Street and Lawrence Street in Harriston got underway earlier this month. Construction is also underway on Lawrence Street. Construction is expected continue through to October, 2020. The Town of Minto has deemed the project to be essential involving critical infrastructure and contractors are required to follow all guidelines set out in provincial and federal regulations. Arthur Street East (Highway 89) and Lawrence Street will be closed to through traffic during the construction period. Local access will also be interrupted at various times during this period. Mayor George Bridge noted in the town’s May 14 online community update that at some point in construction the sidewalk in front of the postal outlet on Arthur Street will be rebuilt and residents will have to access the facility through the walkway from the adjacent parking lot.
