Council agrees to expanded footprint for shop

KENILWORTH - A local business is being granted a minor variance to allow a 4,000 square foot metal working shop near Highway 89.

Council rendered its decision on March 11 following a committee of adjustment hearing.

The owner/applicant of the 86 acre property is EBM Farms Inc. The property is at Part Lot 16, Concession 14, in the former township of  West Luther, civic address of 9625 Sideroad 15.

The application is for relief from the maximum floor area requirements for a home industry -  which is 2,500 square feet. The proposed 4,000ft² metal working shop exceeds the permitted size by 1,500ft².

Wellington County junior planner Jessica Rahim stated there were no concerns with the additional floor area.

The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) had no objection to the variance but noted additional permits are needed for access from Highway 89.
