KENILWORTH - After a lengthy meeting of Wellington North council on April 29 regarding a proposed rezoning for Aletha’s Place in Mount Forest, an amended bylaw was approved by council on May 13 with no additional discussion.

An amended bylaw came before council that night to permit limited temporary overnight accommodations within the existing learning centre.

The Aletha’s Place property is currently zoned institutional (IN).

The zoning shifts the property from institutional (IN) to institutional exception (IN035).

The new zoning states “In addition to the uses currently permitted on the subject property, temporary overnight accommodation for a maximum of five youth shall be permitted.  The temporary accommodation is permitted only as accessory to the existing New Growth Family Centre and Aletha’s Place and in relation to the services provided therein.”

Council endorsed the change unanimously without  comment.
