KENILWORTH – The “Proudly Canadian Kenilworth” event was held at the Country Pantry on May 4, highlighting Ontario- and Canadian-made products.

Many guests filed into the shop, tasting treats from local artisans and businesses, including Wellington North councillor Steve McCabe, Mayor Andy Lennox, Perth-Wellington MPP Matthew Rae and MP John Nater.

McCabe said it was such a good turnout that when he got there at 10am he “had to wait probably about 15 minutes to get inside the door,” and he heard there was a lineup outside until almost 1pm.

The event was also a fundraiser for John Ray, a Mount Forest teen who has published his own cookbook, Big John’s Farm Fresh Recipes: Quick, Healthy, Easy. He hopes to use sale proceeds to save up for a new accessible van for his family, to accommodate his wheelchair. Photo by Georgia York
