County council approves road work tenders worth $3.7 million
Wellington County council has approved a tender for just over $1.7 million in roadwork on Wellington Road 32 in Puslinch.

GUELPH – Wellington County council has approved tenders worth a combined $3.7 million for three road projects.

The tenders, approved at the April 27 meeting, include:

  • rehabilitation of the Creekbank Bridge between Wellington Road 8 and 12th Line in Mapleton, to Engineered Concrete Ltd. of Kitchener for $519,848;
  • asphalt rehabilitation on Wellington Road 109 between Wellington Road 16 and the Dufferin boundary, to Brantco Construction of Cambridge for $1,446,875; and
  • rehabilitation of Wellington Road 32 from south of the Highway 401 overpass (Concession 2) to the MTO carpool lot in Puslinch, to Cox Construction Limited of Guelph for $1,722,224.

Pedestrian crossovers

Councillor Gregg Davidson, who chairs the county’s roads committee, said the project on Wellington Road 32, also known as Lake Road, includes “rehabilitation of the roadway and some improvements, including the addition of two pedestrian crossovers.”
