County insurance costs drop
The cost of insurance for the County of Wellington will actually go down next year.
County council approved an administration and finance committee recommendation to accept the insurance program for 2016 submitted by Ostic Insurance of Fergus and the Frank Cowan Insurance Company of Princeton. The quoted premium of $732,478 is three per cent less than the county paid in 2015.
“Overall our premium was lowered by three per cent despite a number of claims that came to completion,” noted councillor Dennis Lever at the Nov. 26 meeting.
