WELLINGTON COUNTY – All library branches across the county will reopen on Feb. 14.

“We are excited to welcome our patrons back into our libraries,” stated chief librarian Rebecca Hine in a Feb. 7 press release from the county.

“Our curbside pick-up service has been very successful and will continue for patrons who prefer to use that service."

Wellington County officials closed all library branches in the county on Dec. 1 in response to rising cases of COVID-19 in the community.

The reopening announcement welcomed library patrons to "drop in to use study spaces and browse the physical collection."

It adds, "Branch capacity will be limited to permit physical distancing of two metres at all times.

"Patrons are asked to contact their local branch to make appointments for computer and printer access."

To visit county libraries, patrons must:

  • show proof of vaccination or medical exemption via QR code;
  • show personal identification;
  • wear a mask (ages 2 and up); and
  • adhere to all other public health measures.

Officials say library branches will continue curbside pick-up service and virtual resources are also available 24/7 at www.wellington.ca/library.
