County library staff to help with COVID-19 vaccination registration

WELLINGTON COUNTY - Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health (WDGPH) recently launched an online pre-registration website for COVID-19 vaccination priority groups.

The online booking system is the fastest way to get registered for a COVID-19 vaccine appointment.

“The County of Wellington continues to find new ways to actively support WDGPH with the vaccine distribution effort,” Warden Kelly Linton stated in a Feb. 23 press release.

“We have been hearing that some of our residents are having difficulty pre-registering online.

"Starting today, Wellington County Library staff at all 14 branches are available to help residents register online. ”

Residents needing assistance can call their local library to make an appointment to come into the branch to successfully complete the online pre-registration with assistance.

If residents have a computer, cell phone and an email address, staff may be able to assist them by phone.

“On behalf on public health, thank you to the Wellington County Library and Wellington County for ensuring seniors are able to access the COVID-19 vaccine,” stated Medical Officer of Health Dr. Nicola Mercer.

Chief Librarian Rebecca Hine said library staff is “ready to help out in any way we can.”

To pre-register online you will need:

• your contact information including address;
• a cell phone number;
• an email address;
• health card number;
• information about your position and role (for occupation-based priority groups).

Anyone without an email address or cell phone number, who does not have a family member or friend to assist may call 519-822-2715 ext. 4506 for assistance.

Call volumes are extremely high, so, “Please be patient and expect significant delays,” officials urge.
