ABOYNE – While July may seem a long way off, the County of Wellington is already planning for the return of its annual Multicultural Festival on July 5 at the Wellington County Museum and Archives.

The county officially opened its call for exhibitors, performers and vendors on Jan. 20.

The one-day free festival is billed by officials as a family-friendly event celebrating the cultural diversity of Wellington County. It features live cultural performances, music, children’s activities, food vendors and more.

“The Multicultural Festival is an inspiring testament to the variety of cultures that make up our communities,” county economic development officer Anuradha Dam stated in a news release.

“This year, we are especially excited about the Ethnocultural Marketplace, where vendors will be able to share their heritage in meaningful and engaging ways.”

The marketplace is a new addition to the festival that will provide an opportunity for vendors to showcase and sell cultural goods and will offer attendees a chance to connect with global traditions through an assortment of products and crafts, the release stated.

The county is seeking diverse cultural vendors, as well as performers, exhibitors and food trucks to participate this year.

The deadline to apply is March 20. For more information visit wellington.ca/multiculturalfestival.
