CURRIE, Doris Isobel
Died peacefully on April 27, 2024 at Lisaard House after a short illness at age 93. Wife of William Raymond Currie (deceased 1992), mother of Janice (Kelvin Mutter); and Dianne (Glenn Myer). Beloved daughter of the late Clair and Reta Dennis. Predeceased by sisters Jean Leonard and Grace Crawford and son-in-law Robert Eades. Born in Toronto, Ontario September 23, 1930. Raised in Owen Sound in a loving extended family. Claimed faith in Christ at 11 years of age. Member of Calvary Missionary Church where she used her musical and teaching gifts to God’s glory. Raised two daughters in various locations in southern Ontario. Joyful grandmother of six – Joshua (Michelle), Anna (Matt), Daniel (Amy,) Jesse (Sonia), Christopher (Cheryl) and Sara (Chad). She has nine great-grandchildren: Silas, Isaac, Knox, Tessa, Everly, Eisley, Brysen, Avery, and Eli. Retired in Cambridge as a widow to be near her family who have valued her influence and modelling faith in Jesus Christ. For over 20 years she has been deeply involved in the life of Hespeler Baptist Church. She is Safe in the Arms of Jesus. The family received friends at Hespeler Baptist Church, 76 Adam St., Cambridge on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8pm and Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 2 - 3pm. Funeral Service will take place at 3pm. A reception will follow in the church after the service. Interment will take place Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 1pm at Greenwood Cemetery in Owen Sound.
