Delivery driver arrested for stealing package
GUELPH – A delivery driver has been arrested for stealing a package he claimed to have delivered.
Guelph Police officials say an east-end resident contacted police to report the theft of a package from a condo building in mid-October.
“The delivery driver sent an email with a photo of the package inside the building’s parcel locker, but when the victim went to retrieve the package it was gone,” Guelph Police stated in a Nov. 6 press release.
“The building manager reviewed security video, which showed the delivery driver placing the package in the locker, snapping a photo of it and then removing the package and carrying it out of the building.”
On Nov. 5 a 28-year-old Kitchener man was arrested for theft under $5,000. He is to appear in Guelph court on Dec. 23.
