Driver seriously injured after SUV collides with cattle truck

MAPLETON - The driver of an SUV was taken to a Toronto hospital with "life-altering" injuries on Friday following a crash with a loaded cattle truck.

Emergency crews responded to the collision, on Wellington Road 12 west of the 4th Line in Mapleton, on Feb. 28 at about 4pm.

Wellington County OPP officials say the cattle truck and SUV were travelling east on Wellington Road 12 when the collision occurred.

The driver of the SUV was transported by Ornge air ambulance to a Toronto hospital with "serious life-altering injuries," police say.

The cattle and the driver of the cattle truck were not injured.

The crash is being investigated by OPP Technical Collision Investigators and at about 7:30pm police said the road will remain closed "until further notice."
