Dulce Heaven Cookies and Scoops receives patio grant
PALMERSTON – Town council approved a patio grant during a July 8 meeting.
The approved applicant is Dulce Heaven Cookies and Scoops located at 107 William St. in Palmerston.
The business opened in Palmerston in the 2024 summer and has been “serving up delicious baked goods and ice cream ever since,” states the council report.
The location doesn’t have a lot of seating so to capitalize on the summer season, a patio permit was submitted and approved, officials state.
As the owner built the patio himself, it is eligible for material costs only. The costs totalled $732, making the project eligible for grant worth $366.
The Patio Grant Program was initiated in 2019 to encourage more downtown patios. Before this applicant, the 2025 CIP budget totalled $35,000, now it sits at $29,326.
This is the fifth application of the year and council approved it unanimously.
