Education protest

About 50 people protested the Progressive Conservative government’s proposed cuts to public education funding outside Wellington-Halton Hills MPP Ted Arnott’s office in Fergus on Feb. 7. The 2019-20 Education Funding Guide states there are “efficiency gains in the order of four cents on the dollar to be found in the government’s expenditures.” Ontario Secondary School Teacher’s Federation (OSSTF) officials, who organized the protest, say the move would mean cutting $1 billion in education funding.
