ELORA – This year’s Elora Lions Santa Claus Parade theme is parade of lights.

The parade will take place on Nov. 30 at 6:15pm travelling south on Geddes Street from Sophia Street, veering right onto Metcalfe Street, turning left onto Mill Street just before the Badley Bridge and ending at Bissell Park.

From about a half hour before the parade to its conclusion, the route from the Geddes and Mathieson Street intersection to the north and the Irvine and Mill Street intersection to the east will be closed. Roads intersecting the route will be blocked at the intersection.

Lion Joe Van der Borre said the Centre Wellington Food Bank will appear early in the parade to collect non-perishable food donations. Canada post will also collect letters to Santa Claus.

At the parade’s conclusion Santa will attend a meet and greet at the Elora Centre for the Arts on Melville Street.

“We have to have special permission to do that by Mrs. Claus but she’s gracious enough to allow him to take a few extra minutes to do that,” Van der Borre said.
