ERIN – The Town of Erin has closed two of its recreation facilities following a possible COVID-19 exposure.

On Dec. 22, the town posted on its twitter that Centre 2000 in Erin and the Hillsburgh Community Centre would remain closed until further notice.

“The town was informed of a possible exposure by an individual who was at the Hillsburgh and Erin Centre arenas between Dec. 18 and 19,” communications officer Lavina Dixit stated in an email.

“Out of abundance of caution, and given the rise of COVID-19 infections, the two arenas have been closed until further notice.”

Dixit added the safety of residents and staff is the town's "top priority."

Anyone that visited the facilities between Dec. 18 and 20 should contact Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health.

Information has also been posted at the two arenas and on social media.
