ERIN - Heavy rain on the weekend of Jan. 11 to 12 resulting in flooding that closed the Erin clinic operated by the East Wellington Family Health Team (EWFHT).

Executive director Kim Bell said the building’s roof drainage system could not handle the water, and there was a flood in the office area.

Erin doctors were working temporarily at EWFHT’s Rockwood clinic, with Erin patients being booked there for urgent needs.

Bell said restoration work has progressed well. She said there was no damage at the physiotherapy clinic or pharmacy in the same building, at 6 Thompson Crescent.

The clinic was expected to be closed until Feb. 3, but after an assessment, it was announced that it would re-open on Jan. 23 at 9am.

Because of extensive damage, work crews will still be present.
