Fergus COVID-19 assessment centre now open seven days a week

WELLINGTON COUNTY – The COVID-19 assessment centre in Fergus is now open seven days per week.

Wellington Health Care Alliance officials announced on Jan. 6 the centre, located at the former Groves hospital on Union Street, will be open every day from 10am to 6pm except for statutory holidays.

Hours for the northern Wellington assessment centres, which are also closed on holidays, are as follows:

• Harriston, at the former train station on Arthur Street, open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9am to 5pm (closed for lunch from 12:30 to 1:30pm);
• Mount Forest, at the Clair Stewart Medical Centre on Dublin Street, Saturdays from 10am to 4pm; and
• Palmerston, at the Minto Rural Health Centre on Whites Road, Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.

Appointments can be booked at all rural Wellington COVID-19 assessment centres at www.whcacovid.com.

There is no charge for COVID-19 testing, regardless of whether or not an individual has OHIP coverage.
