Fergus Kinsmen to celebrate 100 years of Kin Canada with flag raising

Century club - Kin Canada is celebrating the organization’s 100th anniversary on Feb. 20. The Fergus and District Kinsmen Club will be hosting a flag raising event at 5:30am on Feb. 20 at 181 St. Andrew’s Street East.
“They wanted us to do it at sunrise,” said local club representative Bruce Lloyd at the Jan. 27 Centre Wellington council meeting. “What we would like to do is apprise the community that the Kinsmen are here.”
In honour of its 100th anniversary, the club is giving out 100 bursaries worth $1,000 each. Club representatives attended the Jan. 27 council meeting to show Centre Wellington council the new anniversary flag.
