FERGUS - The first Fairy and Witches Market got underway at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex in Fergus on Aug. 26. Vendors at the market sold crystals, jewelry, clothing, kitchen wear, dream catchers, paintings, and crafts with magical themes. There were also people offering services such as palm readings, tarot card readings, and intuitive healing.

Bubble blaster – Five-year-old Devon Bauber had fun playing with bubbles. Devon said she was dressed as both a fairy and a witch, and her mom said that’s not unusual for her, as Devon loves to dress up everywhere she goes. “She’s my Cyndi Lauper,” her mom said.
Face paint – Natalie Le Blanc painted many faces during the Fairy & Witches Market at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex on Aug. 26., including five-year-old Mackenna O’Leary’s.
Costumes – Attendees were encouraged to come dressed as fairies and witches. Emma Vedd, left, Shay Taylor, middle, and Debbie Taylor live in Missisauga, Fergus, and Rockwood.
Floral fun – Elizabeth Li, Bethany Davidson-Eng, Brianna Davidson, and Jessa Davidson from Guelph, Drayton, and Waterloo were among the shoppers at the Fairy & Witches Market.
Witches – Doreen Smith, left, and Helen Pounder travelled from Mount Forest to Fergus for the Fairy & Witches Market.
Little fairies – Ariel Deschepper, left, Genevieve Campbell, back and Ainsley Deschepper, front, were among the children frolicking around and playing with bubbles.
