HILLSBURGH - No one was injured in a fire that destroyed a detached residential garage here on Dec. 13.

Erin Fire Chief Jim Sawkins said the Trafalgar Road structure was fully engulfed in flames when Hillsburgh and Erin firefighters arrived just after 1:30pm.

Guelph-Eramosa was  also dispatched as backup and Trafalgar Road was closed for about an hour.

There were approximately 30 firefighters on scene, extinguishing the fire with tanker support.

Sawkins said no one was home when the blaze broke out, and there was no estimate of the damage.

The cause remains under investigation, but Sawkins said the fire is not considered suspicious in nature.
