GIBSON, Joanne Marie

Dearly loved daughter and only child of Pearl Gibson and the late Paul Gibson (2022), passed away peacefully at Guelph General Hospital on February 12th, 2025 in her 54th year. Joanne fought through many health challenges resulting from juvenile diabetes in recent years.  Although she was in hospital for a number of weeks prior to her death, her outlook remained positive and she was anticipating spending time with family and friends but unfortunately those hopes were not realized. Joanne will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and her special feline pal, Plum. Special thanks to the medical staff at Groves Memorial and Guelph General Hospitals for their compassionate care and also to the friends and family who supported Joanne in recent months - Joanne W., Rosemary, Lisa, Beth, Dwight and Sheila. Visitation was held on February 26 at 11:00am prior to the service at 12:00 noon at Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St David Street South, Fergus. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to Groves Memorial Hospital.
