GILCHRIST, Kathryn (Kate) Jean
Of Guelph, passed away on November 1, 2023, at the age of 72 years. Dear sister of Marg & Harvey Manderson, Malcolm & Teri Gilchrist, Marlene Gilchrist & Bob Brown, and Alex & Carolynne Gilchrist. Loving aunt to Heather Manderson, Murray & Jen Manderson, Marsha & Steve Harvey, Ian & Jaima Gilchrist, Graham & Carla Gilchrist, Laura Gilchrist, and Sarah Gilchrist. She will be missed by her great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Jack and Gladys Gilchrist. Before retirement Kate was a branch manager in the Guelph Public Library system. She was also involved with the library Bookmobile and was happy to bring books to the communities in Guelph. She loved books of all kinds and was an avid reader. Kate was an armchair fan, enjoying curling, basketball, baseball, and golf from the comforts of home. Kate had an appreciation for nature and the Ontario Seasons. At Kate’s request, a private family service will be held. A celebration of life to be arranged at a later date. Memorial contributions to the Heart & Stroke, Alzheimer’s Society, The War Amps, or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Kathryn (Kate) J.
