GUELPH-ERAMOSA - On Feb. 21 at about 3pm, Wellington County OPP officers were conducting a RIDE program on the Woolwich-Guelph Townline and Speedvale Avenue West here.

Police say officers spoke to the driver of a sedan and requested a driver’s licence and vehicle documents.

“The driver produced a valid Ontario driver’s licence that belonged to another person and alleged that it was them,” police stated, adding the driver was placed under arrest.

Michaele Mahary, 24, of Guelph, was charged with obstructing a peace officer, identity theft and driving while suspended, and was to appear in Guelph court Feb. 21.
