Guelph/Eramosa council grants support for Eden Mills Writers’ Festival

BRUCEDALE  – Guelph/Eramosa council has voted unanimously to provide support and supplies to the Eden Mills Writers’ Festival next month.

“Each year the township’s generous contributions ... are essential to the festival’s success,” states a letter from festival director Jasper Smith that was considered by council on Aug. 11.

The letter included a list of requests, all of which were granted by council:

  • three barriers, at  Wellington Road 29 and Barden Street, Wilson Street and 2nd Line, and Wilson Street and York Street;
  • “road closed ahead” signs at Guelph Line and Wilson Street, and on Wellington Road 29;
  • water coolers and drinking water;
  • picnic tables;
  • garbage cans, garbage bags and recycling bins; and
  • parking vests.

This year’s festival is slated for Sept. 7.
