BRUCEDALE – The municipal election on Oct. 26, 2026, will see Guelph/Eramosa residents vote by mail after council endorsed the method on Aug. 11.

A report from deputy clerk Sooriya Tutt and clerk Amanda Knight listed the various advantages to the vote-by-mail process.

This included accessibility, convenience, ease of access, flexibility, clarity on voting locations, improved implementation, cost effectiveness and  higher turnout.

Vote by mail was used in the township in the 2014, 2018 and 2022 municipal elections.

Registered voters will be mailed a ballot kit and can e mail the ballot in or drop the ballot off at a designated ballot drop off.

There will be no polling stations.

Next year’s election is expected to cost the township about $84,400.
