HALL, Joan B. (nee Tayler)
Joan Hall, 88 of Fergus (formerly of Hillsburgh) passed peacefully at St. Joes Health Centre on November 8, 2025. Predeceased by her loving husband Lorne (July 2024) of 67 years. Mother of Doug (Sue), Barb (Keith) Switzer, Ken (Edith) and Diane (Bob) Lang. Cherished Grandmother of Kim and Lisa (Scott), Chad (Dawn) and Ashley, Stephanie and Brendan (Rachel), and Courtney and Kevin (Monika) and Great- Grandmother of 16. Joan was born in Bristol, England and immigrated to Canada at the age of 11 alongside her father, mother and sister. Her family resided in Scarborough where she attended Teacher’s College. Joan was a school teacher at Ross R. MacKay PS for 30+ years as well as, an active member of the Erin Agricultural Society and the Hillsburgh Women’s Institute. Joan enjoyed reading, watching and listening to History related topics, daily crosswords, Scrabble and knitting. Joan had a zest for life as she enjoyed speaking and learning from all she met. She loved to hear their stories and to share the many of her own. A private family graveside burial will be held. Our family would like to express gratitude and appreciation to the doctors and nurses involved in her care.
