HANNA, Jean (Langdon)

Of Elora. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma, and Great Great Grandma peacefully at Groves Memorial Hospital on December 29, 2023 in her 97th year. She is predeceased by her husband Ernie Hanna (1996), and her daughter and son-in-law Laurie and Roger McFadden. She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Mary (Paul), her Grandsons, Joseph McFadden of Milton, Philip McFadden of Fergus, Adam Settle (Lena) and Jeremy Settle of Elora. She will also be missed by her Great Grandchildren, Alyssa Aussem (Max) Chelsea, Lexi McFadden and James Settle, and Great Great Grandchildren Isla, Logan and Carter. Jean lived most of her life in Alma where she was an active member of the Alma United Church, United Church Women, Women’s Institute, and was a life member of the Eastern Star Lodge. She worked with her husband Ernie in the gas station business, drove a school bus for over 30 years, delivered rural mail for 35 years and was a hostess at Marj’s Country Kitchen for over 20 years.  Jean loved playing euchre several times a week with her friends at the Elora Legion, Maple Leaf Acres, Fergus Seniors Centre and Station Square. May her gentle spirit and fond memories continue to inspire us all. Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South, Fergus. A memorial service began at 1:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Donations in Jean’s memory may be made to the Centre Wellington Food Bank.
