MAPLETON - A Haunted Garage here was a popular attraction on Oct.  29 and 30 at the Ottens Farm near Moorefield.

A rainy Halloween night four years ago prompted Marlene Ottens to set up a few Halloween decorations in her garage, and every year since, the spooky display has grown.

To comply with restrictions related to the pandemic during the last two years, people would book a time to come.  This year, groups could make their way through the darkened garage to brave the chills and thrills together.

The spectacle included a misfortune teller, little hairy monsters, skeletons, an apothecary with bottled potions, gooey guts and brains, plus a seemingly impossible magic broom.  Admission was a donation to the local food bank.
