HERSHEY, Alvin

Alvin Edward Robert Hershey, formerly of Normanby Township, passed away at Caressant Care, Harriston, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in his 90th year. Husband of the late Ruth (Luedke) Hershey in 2014. Loved father of Dale & Joan Hershey of Ayton. Proud grandfather of Abner & Michele Hershey of Mitchell, and Tyler & Josie Hershey of Owen Sound, and great-grandfather of Jonathan, Jessie, Terran, Trista, Cyrus, and Kurtis. Remembered also by Ruth’s siblings Myrtle Winters, and Bill & Shirley Luedke, and by his nieces, nephews, and their families. Predeceased by his parents Abner & Alvina (Braun) Hershey, brother Mervin Hershey and wife Ferne, and by his daughter Eunice Deibel. The funeral service was held at St John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mount Forest, on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 11:00am, with visitation one hour prior and reception that followed. Interment at Chilton Cemetery.
