Passed away suddenly on Monday, January 23, 2023. Beloved father of Christine Pettigrew (Adam), Lawrence Hewitt and Corrine Hewitt, Kevin J. Hewitt (Charlene) and Michael Pettigrew. Beloved grandfather/papa, great grandfather, uncle and great uncle. Brother of Donna Maher, Sharon Holt, Laurie Yorke. Sister-in-law of Carol Pettigrew (Mike), brother-in-law of Jim and Patty Pettigrew. He will be sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his beloved wife Elizabeth Lynn Hewitt and parents Elmer and Lillian Hewitt. Friends were received at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & ChapeL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Monday, January 30, 2023 from 1pm-3pm. A graveside service was held at 3:30pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel (519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com). A tree will be planted in memory of Lawrence E. Hewitt in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
