Homecoming logo creators recognized

Homecoming 2017 logo conest winners Margaret Reidt, Jennifer Gibson, and Deanna Wardrop were presented with Clifford Homecoming 2017 souvenir t-shirts at the Nov. 14 meeting held at Knox United Church.

Chairman Bill Smith invited Jeremy Gibson accompanied by his daughter Sophia to discuss the site plan. Gibson suggested sites for tents, stages, play area, parking, and camping, as well as potential areas of concern.

Al Rams commented on the work of Peter Buhrow and the historical group who submitted a summary and photos regarding the erection of the grist mill on the day of Confederation, July 1, 1867. This will accompany a grant application to the Canada 150th fund. Al Rams is co-chair of the Historical Car Committee with Bill Demerling and Burton Pinder.

Volunteers will be knocking on doors in Clifford starting at 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 8 with the help of the Clifford Rotarians who will not be hosting their peanut drive this year. However, Rotarians will still be taking orders for poinsettias that evening. At a cost of $2 each, group will be selling chocolate bars.

Sharon Kaufman is designing a quilt that will incorporate groups that exist within the community. Groups are invited to share a place of honour on the quilt for a fee of $15.
