HOMER, Ruth (nee Traynor)
It is with great sadness the family of Ruth Homer (nee Traynor) announces her peaceful passing on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. Ruth will be deeply missed by her husband of 58 years, Jim, her children Bill (Shari), Tracey (Rick), and Joanne (Al), grandchildren Adam, Ryan, and Emery, sister Jeanette Randall and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Marie, Joan, Mary-Lou and Helen. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. Stickney, Groves Memorial Hospital’s Oncologist and the Oncologist nurses, Karen and Sandra for their care and compassion. Visitation was held on Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 2:00pm to 4:30pm at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 280 St. David St. South, Fergus. A funeral service for Ruth was held on Monday, August 14, 2023 at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
