ARTHUR – The Arthur and District Horticultural Society held a successful plant sale on May 18, with over half the plants sold within the first hour. All proceeds benefit the society’s many projects, including public gardens and planters throughout the town. According to president Terri Ireland, the society will also use some of the money to replace its watering system, which was stolen last summer from the Arthur cenotaph. The society consists of around 50 members, with close to 20 of them being active green-thumbed gardeners.
