GUELPH – The Guelph Humane Society raised $62,314 to support care for vulnerable animals in Guelph and Wellington County during its second annual Happy Trails Walk-a-thon on July 2, with  246 walkers and 80 dogs showing up.

“We are so grateful for the amazing turnout, despite the rain,” GHS executive director Lisa Veit said in a news release. “The overwhelming support from our community for this event has been truly outstanding.”

She expressed thanks to participants and event sponsor Wellington Laboratories.

“Together, we are making a positive impact on the welfare of animals in our community,” Veit stated.

Donations can still be made on the Humane Society’s website at guelphhumane.ca.
